The Blank Canvas of a New Day

I sit and watch as beautiful pastel colors seep and blend into the canvas of the dark morning sky, like watercolors spilling onto a blank piece of paper, and I think about the blank canvas of this new day. And I wonder what the Master Artist envisions for me today. For my children, for the … Continue reading The Blank Canvas of a New Day

The Way to “Be Still”…

The verse "Be still and know that I am God" encourages us to release our worries, anxieties, and control, and to embrace stillness in God's presence. By experiencing and recognizing Him, leaning into His plan, and trusting His character, we find peace, healing, joy, protection, and rest. This trust allows our minds to rest freely in Him.

Messy

When I say that I'm a Christ-follower... Don't shy away Because you think that I think I'm Good Better Holier. Don't clam up, because you think you can't share your brokenness. I'm broken. Don't be silent about your messiness. I'm messy. Don't pretend to be perfect, together. I'm not. I'm imperfect. I'm never together. If I look like I've got it all together... Just talk to me for a few minutes. I might say that I'm doing ok today... I also might melt down and turn into a puddle.... Continue Reading...

Wrecked By Grace

I'm not exactly sure what I expected when I sat down and opened up my Bible a few mornings ago to "abide" (John 15:4). Something I haven't been so great at lately. I think, without really thinking, that I expected to be guilted. I think that maybe I expected to be shamed for not sitting … Continue reading Wrecked By Grace

What I learned from my dead Christmas tree…

We all love a Christmas tree, all lit up, decorated...it smells wonderful and brings life to the Christmas season. That's what it represents...Life. Christ, and the new life that He brings to us. We all love posting and sharing pictures of our trees looking all pretty. Today I was taking my tree down...it was ugly … Continue reading What I learned from my dead Christmas tree…

Grieving in the Lovely

"Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable-if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise-dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8 I love how the Lord strings His truths together like lights on a wire. His Word is alive … Continue reading Grieving in the Lovely

Muddy Thoughts

I have the choice this year...this day...this minute...the choice of where to put my mind. Where to dwell, linger, what to meditate on. (It is a choice. It's my choice. It's an action, a putting or setting of my mind.) It's real easy to go negative, to allow my mind to dwell on someone else's … Continue reading Muddy Thoughts

Cry Out

The battle is waging, The enemy's strong... Mothers and Fathers cry out. His tactics relentless, Temptations so sweet... Mothers and Fathers cry out. We're confounded, astounded, We're desperate and weak... Mothers and Fathers cry out. He keeps inching closer, Creeping in on all sides... Mothers and Fathers cry out. We close all our doors, Yet … Continue reading Cry Out

Dwelling in Praise…(The Best Place to be on a Monday…and Everyday!)

"Let them praise your great and awesome name! Holy is He!" Psalm 99:3 "But You are holy, O You that inhabits the praises of Israel." Psalm 22:3 If God inhabits praises...then that's where I want to be...praising Him!!! Here's the verse I've been working on memorizing... "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever … Continue reading Dwelling in Praise…(The Best Place to be on a Monday…and Everyday!)
