YES, I Will Be Your Alien.

Good morning! Are you packed and ready to go? "Go where?"...you might ask. What if the answer was..."to the place I will show you?" Are you ready to go? "Now the LORD said to Abram, 'Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father's house, to the land which I will … Continue reading YES, I Will Be Your Alien.

Good morning!!

fridge

This past Sunday, we talked about “Refrigerator Friends” at church.  The friends that can come over and go into our refrigerator without asking…take our favorite thing out and eat it (and we’re o.k. with it!)…or, take out the things that are expired/rotten (and we’re o.k. with that, too!).

The friends that will tell me when something in my life is rotten.

  • Do I have friends like this?!!
  • If not…am I praying for friends like this?  We need to be!!  They are vital!!

I love these verses that were mentioned Sunday…lets take a closer look at Hebrews 10:23-25.

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more…

Singing in the Battle

Good morning!! "The LORD makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him..."  Psalm 37:23 I'm so thankful for this story of Jehoshaphat...the king who turned his attention to seek the LORD in a time of great fear. Others might have decided to immediately prepare to fight...or surrender to such a multitude coming up against … Continue reading Singing in the Battle

In a Battle

The whispers echo, stirring doubt, yet the deeper longing persists and stirs the soul, and Truth draws me in anyway, despite my doubts. Past the whispers of lies, pushing through the doubts, my soul tugs deeper, presses in, and Truth wins...even here in 2nd Chronicles. Truth wins, meets me in the story of a king named Jehoshaphat. Pages rustle and He smiles as I fight to meet Him here. He's been waiting patiently...as He always does...for this time with me. I've been thirsting for it.

Precious Longing

Some time ago I was reading this verse, and decided to look up the word "unfolding." What I found was amazing (to me, at least!!) When we ask Him to "Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Your law" (Psalm 119:18), He does just that...He opens our eyes and shows us wonderful things!! I already loved the word "unfolding"...but the beauty of it went even deeper as I searched and found the meaning.

Turning Heart and Pages

We're only human. And sometimes, we just need to admit that deep down, we're really in a sorry state. We need to take off the mask, take some notes from the Psalmist and pour out our troubled selves before God. "I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him. When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path." (Psalm 142:2-3a)

Waking Hungry…Filled With Delight

Good morning! "Your words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts." Jeremiah 15:16 Before my eyes were open this morning, I could see the pages of His Word.  And I felt … Continue reading Waking Hungry…Filled With Delight
