Listen up, Self! Today, there will be two voices to listen to. There will be the quiet Voice of Truth whispering to my soul…and there will be the screaming lies of the Master Deceiver. The Deceiver is crafty and will know just what to say to get me down…to get me to focus on myself instead of Jesus. But Truth will be there, quietly whispering in my soul.
Yes…TODAY is GOOD!!!
"...we can do something extra-ordinary in a seemingly ordinary day. We can drop to our knees in the middle of whatever is going on and boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the {PRECIOUS} blood of Jesus."
Making a Dent in Heart and Laundry
Good Morning!!For those days when a shower is just a thought and you've cleaned all day and just want to sit...but keep finding more FULL dirty laundry buckets...I will remind my soul to..."Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Taking Us and the Garden Back
I always struggle with calling today Good Friday. When we get to this day, my heart hurts when I think of what Jesus endured on this day so long ago. It doesn't feel good. My 8 year old even asked me that about a week ago, why it was called "Good" when it was the day Jesus died, and I needed to hear the answer again for myself. It's Good because of what Jesus did for us. It's Good because this is the day He showed us just how much He loves us by giving His life for us in the most painful and shameful way. "He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death--even death on a cross!" (Philippians 2:8)
Opening Heart, Hands and Arms to the Giver
Good morning! "He did not even spare His own Son but offered Him up for us all..." Romans 8:32 This is the week that we soak in the remembrance of what He did. Jesus. Yesterday, the daily reading for the Holy Week in the gospel was John 12:21-32. In verses 27-28, Jesus says, “Now My soul … Continue reading Opening Heart, Hands and Arms to the Giver
What is That Smell?!!
When we are living in a way that is pleasing to God...when we spend time in His Word, spend time with Him in prayer...when we allow Him to purify our hearts and minds, allow Him to guide our steps...others will be drawn to the life~giving aroma that is Christ in us and Christ spilling out of us. His fragrance draws us in, comforts us, gives us hope, causes us to remember His faithfulness, makes us crave Him more.
A Burning Heart
Good morning!! As I woke up this morning, the reminder that we were given on Sunday rang as clear in my head as it did Sunday when Pastor Eric Geiger said it. It was this..."If you are a Christian, you are a missionary. He gave us this quote from Spurgeon..."Every Christian is a missionary or an imposter." … Continue reading A Burning Heart
Unqualified
Good morning!! This week at church, we've been challenged with this question..."Is my Yes on the table?" Have I said "Yes" to Jesus...not knowing what I'm saying yes to, but fully trusting His character, His ways, and His plans for me? But...what if I'm not "qualified?" If He (or anyone else) did a background check, … Continue reading Unqualified
YES, I Will Be Your Alien.
Good morning! Are you packed and ready to go? "Go where?"...you might ask. What if the answer was..."to the place I will show you?" Are you ready to go? "Now the LORD said to Abram, 'Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father's house, to the land which I will … Continue reading YES, I Will Be Your Alien.
