The whispers echo, stirring doubt, yet the deeper longing persists and stirs the soul, and Truth draws me in anyway, despite my doubts. Past the whispers of lies, pushing through the doubts, my soul tugs deeper, presses in, and Truth wins...even here in 2nd Chronicles. Truth wins, meets me in the story of a king named Jehoshaphat. Pages rustle and He smiles as I fight to meet Him here. He's been waiting patiently...as He always does...for this time with me. I've been thirsting for it.

Precious Longing

Some time ago I was reading this verse, and decided to look up the word "unfolding." What I found was amazing (to me, at least!!) When we ask Him to "Open my eyes, that I may behold wonderful things from Your law" (Psalm 119:18), He does just that...He opens our eyes and shows us wonderful things!! I already loved the word "unfolding"...but the beauty of it went even deeper as I searched and found the meaning.

We're only human. And sometimes, we just need to admit that deep down, we're really in a sorry state. We need to take off the mask, take some notes from the Psalmist and pour out our troubled selves before God. "I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him.
